DOCUMENTARY: HOPE ON A HILL
(Nepali language with English subtitles, 35 minutes)

This is the story of a small village school in Narjamandap, Nuwakot, Nepal. The Shree Sita Dharma Basic School, located in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, has been providing basic education to underprivileged children free of charge since 2008.
 
This documentary is the result of Jeff Harvey's 6-week immersion in the school and community.
 
Sadly, the majority of non-government schools that lie outside of large cities like Kathmandu face similar challenges: a significant lack of resources such as quality textbooks and teaching aids, school supplies, computers, training for teachers, playground equipment, uniforms, etc. The only hope is either a renewed effort from the government to supply these needs, or supplemental support from the private sector.
